Recently attended the 2013 Merrie Monarch hula festival. Has lunch twice at Hawaiian Style Cafe on Manono St. The food was fantastic. The service was excellent and the people running this place was so aloha and very friendly. Ho man, we felt so welcome. On Fridays they have the Hawaiian plate lunch. Was super ono. The food came on a large wood platter, da kind with the sections. Had fresh poi, kalua pua'a, lomi salmon, chicken long rice and mac salad. You have to try this dish. Remember, only on Fridays. I tell you now, once you try this place, it will become your favorite place to ear. The wait is a little long, but that's okay, it's a tell tale sign that people are willing to wait it out until it's their turn to feast on all the good food. Go ahead, give this place a try - I promise you won't be leaving hungry - only wanting your lauhala mat for go moe afterwards.
