We paid $2,200 for 5 Redbuds and 1 Ash which we planted ourselves. Big Trees Today offers no warranty on customer-planted trees, but we were confident that the trees would thrive if we followed their planting and care instructions. This spring the Ash came to life but the Redbuds struggled briefly and then died. Dan examined the trees, said that it looked like we planted them correctly, and speculated that it was possibly the weird spring weather that killed them. We asked if they would make an exception to their policy given the circumstances, but they repeatedly emphasized that they were not contractually obligated to replace the trees. They did eventually offer to sell us surplus trees at a discount, but buying more unwarranted trees from them seemed like a bad idea. Although the owners were professional and friendly, we've decided to buy replacement trees from one of the many nurseries that offer a warranty on all of their products.

We bought serveral big trees from this establishment on good faith that the pricing was in line with any other competitors. Well....the delivery and installation went well, and the employees were very nice to deal with. I must say, that after talking to a friend in the stat of Washington, I found that I could have purchased the same type and size of tree for about one sixth the price of what we paid at Big Trees today, and that included delivery!

I like great "mom and pop" businesses. This is a great "Pop and Son" business that lives up to their word, gives fair pricing and knows how to plant big trees. My yard has come alive because of ther attention to even the smallest detail.
