- Dental ExaminationAlmost everyone can benefit from tooth whitening. However, there are some cases where the treatment may not be effective. By careful oral examination, we can determine whether you are a viable candidate for tooth whitening. Tooth whitening is ideal for patients who have healthy, unrestored teeth and would like to have whiter, brighter teeth.
- Teeth CleaningEveryone’s teeth have a protective layer called the acquired pellicle. This layer contains the surface dental stains and is removed during a regular dental cleaning or the whitening process. It takes twelve to twenty-four hours for the barrier to fully develop again. To maximize the whitening, we ask that you do not consume dark liquids or foods (i.e. coffee, tea, dark soft drinks, or red wine), as well as refraining from wearing colored lipsticks, in order to minimize shade relapse. In addition, we recommend that you avoid any “yellow” foods such as white wines and potato chips.
- Fluoride TreatmentThe “ZOOM!” Whitening procedure is simple and painless. It begins with a short preparation to isolate your lips and gums. The “ZOOM!” clinician then applies the “ZOOM!” Whitening Gel which is activated by a specially designed light. Teeth typically become at least six to ten shades whiter. A five minute fluoride treatment completes the procedure. In most cases, teeth will continue to get even whiter the first few days after the procedure.
- Resin CompositeDental veneers can be made from porcelain or from resin composite materials. Porcelain veneers resist stains better than resin veneers and better mimic the light reflecting properties of natural teeth. Resin veneers are thinner and require removal of less of the tooth surface before placement. You will need to discuss the best choice of veneer material for you with your dentist.
- VeneersDental veneers (sometimes called porcelain veneers or dental porcelain laminates) are wafer-thin, custom-made shells of tooth-colored materials designed to cover the front surface of teeth. These shells are bonded to the front of the teeth changing their color, shape, size or length and resulting in an improved appearance.
- CrownsCrowns are a type of dental restoration which, when cemented into place, covers the entire tooth which lies at and above the gum line. In comparison, fillings are dental restorations that are used to fill just a portion of a tooth. Since dental crowns encase the entire visible aspect of a tooth, a dental crown in effect becomes the tooth`s new outer surface.
- Bridges
- Dental Bonding
- DenturesAre you tired of your removable partial dentures? Ever thought about how great it would be to have your permanent teeth back again? Permanent bridges will do just that! Brush them, floss them and take care of them just like your natural teeth…. and get ready for that steak dinner!!
- Dental ImplantsDental implants are an ideal option for people in good general oral health who have lost a tooth or teeth due to periodontal disease, an injury, or some other reason. While high-tech in nature, dental implants are actually more tooth-saving than traditional bridgework, since implants do not rely on neighboring teeth for support.
- OrthodonticsIn recent years, bonding has proven to be a highly effective treatment for closing spaces between the teeth. Composite resin, a plastic material, is applied to the teeth to make them wider in areas were gaps exist. Bonding can also be used to close a space temporarily, until crowns are made, for example. On the other hand, if you are having your spaces closed through orthodontics, even if some of your teeth are too dark, bonding can be used to lighten them while the spaces are being closed.
