Dr. Helen Simigiannis, a Board Certified OB/GYN serving central New Jersey, is pleased to announce the opening of her new practice. Dr. Simigiannis is now scheduling appointments. About Dr. Helen Dr. Helen Simigiannis received her undergraduate degree in the Biological Sciences at Rutgers University in 1993. In 1999, she received her M.D. from Ross University School of Medicine. She completed her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology and two years of Family Medicine at Creighton University Medical Center. She then went on to private practice in Monmouth County where she proudly delivered over a thousand babies, and took care of women in all stages of life, with a special interest in adolescence. During her career, Dr. Simigiannis had the opportunity to care for and learn from patients in underdeveloped countries in the Caribbean, as well as the inner cities of New York and the outskirts of Washington, DC. She started Antheia Gynecology, where the primary focus is individualized and attentive gynecologic ambulatory and minimally invasive surgical care. She lives with her husband in Cranbury, NJ. Knowing what to expect at the visit can help alleviate this anxiety. Here is some information about the first reproductive health visit. The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists recommends the first visit to the gynecologist be between the age of 13 and 15. A pelvic exam is not usually necessary at this visit. The primary focus is for you to become acquainted with your doctor, the nurses and office staff, and the physical office set up. This familiarity makes it more comfortable for you in the future when discussing more personal issues.
