Provided by YP.comStay away from Joseph (Joe) Curran from Banba Screens. This guy has no experience nor knowledge installing windows & doors. Maybe is okay doing simple stuff like repairing windows screens, but anything that requires real contracting experience, he basically has zero knowledge.
I hired him to enclose a patio with windows and a storm door including all the finishing touches and we agreed on a fixed price for the labor (cost of windows, door and materials were separate). Realistically a 2-3 day job for a real contractor.
The 1st he came to install the framing I knew something was wrong. He did not have the right tools, and I noticed he did not even operate what he had correctly. He was unable to do the framing that day, and came few days later with his brother to finish the framing.
Apparently when it comes to anything other than screen repair Joe is 100% dependent on other people, like his brother & a friend to do the job, because he had no idea what he was doing (I have a lot of experience working with contractors).
Some days he came for few hours, tried to do some basic work and disappeared when he found out his "help" (brother) was unavailable to come.
Luckily his brother & friend were available to work 2 days, so the framing, windows and door were installed, but when it came to the finishing touches (moldings, sheetrock, trimming, insulation, etc) he was stuck without any help and had no idea what to buy or how to install.
When I came back form work the other day I noticed that he took all of his tools (usually he left the tools). I knew this was a red flag. I called and texted him without a reply. I called his other number the morning after from a different phone and his wife answered. I asked her to tell Joe to call me back. He texted me after couple of hours that it was "more work than we agreed upon". Well, NO IT WAS NOT. I have an invoice from him specifying the cost and details of the the labor.
He got 70% of the labor money in 2 separate payments and he eventually walked away when from the jobsite when he realized he will only get the 30% balance when the job is done.
Now I have to hire someone else to finish the job.
This guy is an amateur. STAY AWAY!
