Provided by DexKnowsI have been to a lot of quack doctors in my life and I am so glad that I found Hickory Psychiatric Center. My doctor is fantastic and I feel very safe and comfortable there. Everyone is so nice and friendly, I look forward to my visits.

Provided by DexKnowsYou really should look around in the Catawba Valley area for Psy Services other than this group. They do not really have interest in their clients, they are interested primarily in a recurring income stream. Don't get me wrong, I like money too. But even if you have excellent benefits, some of the physicians at this group are not interested in working for the patient. People with mental or emotional disorders should be able to reach the Doctor, not just leave messages on an answering machine. These folks don't return calls and do not take a "pro active" approach. Being one of the Oldest service provider locations (Yes I knew Dr. Trado) they rest on the momentum of past efforts and the refferals of area doctors. Their office staff ignores messages, including rescheduling calls and blame you for the mixup then when you need help they send you to the end of the line.Mark my words they are going to treat someone who is really sick this way someday and we will all see it play out on CNN." (Not a threat by any means but our society does not have the term "Going Postal for no reason, and probability says its just a matter of time when you treat ill people this way.) The Area has other qualified doctors. Seek them out and ask about the schedule availability, and flexibility.

Provided by DexKnowsThe reviews were awful. But with limited location options, I went anyway. I'm glad I did. They were just fine. No problems I saw. Each case is different and at least give them a chance. Behavioral healthcare is hard to find in rural NC. These people did the same as every other normal Behavoiral treatment type place I have ever been.

Provided by DexKnowsThese shrinks are dangerous to your health in the worst of ways. Run ! Don't walk away from them. Better to just deal with your issues than be victim of treatment(?) from these quacks!!!

Provided by DexKnowsMy wife was diagnosed with Bi-polar and High Aniety Disorder. She was put out of work without any insurance. She went to get help from here,,,they charged her 275.00 due to no insurance,,,did absolutely nothing for her but to tell her she needed to go to hospital for detox. I would not recommend this place to my enemy.

Provided by DexKnowsI drive an hour and 15 minutes to get to Hickory Psychiatric because they take there time and it is a partnership. They will answer any question you have and are not in a hurry to give you some meds and get you on your way. It is very different from any experience I have ever had with a psychiatrist.

Provided by DexKnowsI have been under the care of this group for over 20 years. I was found to be Bi-Polar, which is hard to recognize and treat. They know how to treat you so you will see very positive results. And they take their profession very serious. If you are not feeling satisfaction with the treatment you are receiving; I highly suggest you try this group ofprofessionals.
