- Male InfertilityOriginally from Seattle, Washington, Dr. Calvert earned his medical degree at the University of Washington School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency at Vanderbilt University where he received many distinguished awards and honors including the American Urological Association’s Men’s Health Travelling Fellowship through AUA. Finally, Dr. Calvert received his Fellowship in Men’s Health/Infertility from the University of Utah. Dr. Calvert joins Urology Associates as both a general urologist and also an infertility specialist within the Nashville Men’s Health division. Specific areas of interest for Dr. Calvert include vasectomy and vasectomy reversal, Peyronie’s disease, testosterone management, PSA management, genital pain disorders, varicocelectomy, and a special focus on male infertility.

- GynecologyDr. Duong is married to David Matthews, a fourth-generation farmer in North Carolina. They enjoy travel, food, and wine, and spending time with their children. His sister, Joy Cox, practices obstetrics and gynecology at Heritage Medical Associates, and his brother-in-law, Charlie Cox, practices orthopedic surgery at Vanderbilt University.

She graduated with her Masters of Science in Nursing after getting married and moving to Nashville. She worked at a busy internal medicine practice in Cool Springs prior to specializing in Urology. She is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner and a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and Tennessee Nurse Practitioner Association. Laura is passionate about providing individualized care to patients of all ages. Her goal as a health care provider is not only to diagnose and treat illness but also to develop meaningful, trusting relationships with each patient. She is thrilled to serve her patients and collaborate with the amazing group of healthcare providers at Urology Associates.

- Testicular CancerDr. Dervishi specializes in robotic surgery and urologic cancers such as: prostate cancer, kidney cancer, bladder cancer, testicular cancer, and adrenal cancer. He received his bachelor of science degree in chemistry at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. He then went on to complete his medical training at UTHSC College of Medicine in Memphis, TN. Following his medical training, he relocated to Kentucky, where he completed his urology residency at the University of Louisville. Dr. Dervishi then pursued advanced training at Hartford Hospital in Connecticut where he completed his fellowship in Urologic Oncology & Minimally Invasive Surgery.
- Interstitial CystitisGrowing up in Palm Beach, Florida, Cara received her bachelor’s degree in science from Vanderbilt University in 2005; she then attended Vanderbilt Nursing School in 2006 where she earned a Master of Science in Nursing. She began working at Urology Associates with Dr. Whitfield in 2007. They have a great time working together and specialize in female urology, including but not limited to interstitial cystitis, stress incontinence, and the placement of interstims which Cara programs.

- Prostate CancerOriginally from Cleveland in East Tennessee, Dr. Morris attended The Baylor School in Chattanooga, TN. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Vanderbilt University and then earned his doctorate from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. Dr. Morris completed his residency training at The University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI with a special research interest in genetics that predicts the aggressiveness of prostate and bladder cancers. He authored and co-authored multiple scientific papers throughout his training and has presented research findings at regional and national meetings. He helps coordinate the Advanced Therapeutics Center for prostate cancer therapies and our clinical research trials.
- MRIWent in today to get results of recent MRI. Dr. Gregory Head was very thorough in his explanation. Good news - bad news scenario turned out to be two good newses according to how it could have been. A little cleverness thrown into the mix made a pleasant experience, as doctor visits go. I am glad that I have Dr. Head as my urologist. My kidney health is in good hands.
- General SurgeryDr. Duong was born in Saigon, Vietnam, and arrived with his family in the United States as war refugees. He grew up in Knoxville, TN, as the eldest of three children. With the help of private scholarships, he earned a B.A. in Molecular Biophysics & Biochemistry and Religious Studies at Yale University. He subsequently earned both an M.D. and a Ph.D. in Molecular Physiology & Biophysics at Vanderbilt University in the NIH-funded Medical Scientist Training Program. He completed his internship in general surgery and residency training in urology at Stanford University. Over the course of his career, he has published numerous scientific articles and presented his work at national meetings.
- OrthopedicsDr. Patrick Selph is a native of Franklin, TN, and joins Urology Associates after spending seven years as an Associate Professor in the Department of Urology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. During his time at UAB, Dr. Selph was twice voted as the faculty teacher of the year for the department. Furthermore, he served as the young urologist representative for the Southeastern section of the American Urological Association, was the chair of UAB Hospital’s American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer committee, and was the ambulatory Quality Officer for the Departments of Urology, Orthopedics, and Otolaryngology. He was also one of three urologists from the United States selected to represent the American Urological Association in a visiting scholar program with the European Association of Urology, traveling to hospitals throughout Europe in 2017.
- Minimally Invasive SurgeryAlthough Dr. Hawkins was born in Nashville, he grew up in Lewisport, KY, just outside of Owensboro. He graduated magna cum laude from Transylvania University (Lexington, KY), and attended the University of Louisville School of Medicine where he graduated with honors. Dr. Hawkins completed both his internship in surgery and residency in urology at Indiana University Medical Center working with an extensive network of urologic oncologists, reconstructive urologists and experts in endoscopic and minimally invasive surgery and stone disease. Dr. Hawkins is a Board Certified Urologist providing comprehensive urological care in all aspects of urology with a particular focus on patient-driven care and new technologies.

After working in Physical Therapy, he went on to complete his Masters in Medicine from Trevecca University as a Physician’s Assistant and joined Urology Associates in 2013. He became the Director of the Advanced Practice Providers in 2015. Aaron helps with our Advanced Therapeutics Center and clinical research trials.
