For more than 20 years, Dr. Allison has been practicing as a medical oncologist. She is one of the founding members and serves as Practice President of Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada, the largest oncology provider in the state of Nevada. Dr. Allison has also served as Principal Investigator on numerous clinical research studies for breast cancer and helped foster the practice’s research affiliation with The US Oncology Network. The trials she participated in have changed the standard of care for breast cancer and led to the FDA approval of Paclitaxel and Herceptin. Dr. Allison is a member of the breast cancer research committee for The US Oncology Network. She is co-founder of The Caring Place, a program of Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation that provides complementary therapies to those touched by cancer. For her commitment to patient care and betterment of the medical community, Dr. Allison has received numerous awards and recognitions including Medical Marvels by Nevada Business Magazine and Top Doctor in the Medical Oncology category by Vegas Seven. She was the recipient of the 2010 Athena Leadership Award through the Women’s Chamber of Commerce and inducted into the Women’s Chamber of Commerce Hall of Fame in 2011. She received the Healthcare Hero Award for compassionate caregiver in 2011, and in 2013 she received the Commitment to Health Award from United Way of Southern Nevada’s Women’s Leadership Council. In 2014 she received the Woman of Distinction Award in healthcare from the National Association of Women Business Owners and was selected as the 2015 Governor’s Points of Light winner in the Individual Southern Nevada category by Nevada Volunteers.
