  Ronald Koe, M.D., was raised in Woodland Hills, California. He graduated from the University of California, San Diego with a Bachelor of Arts degree in biochemistry and cell biology. After leaving the sunny beaches of Del Mar, he attended Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska and received his Doctor of Medicine degree in 1990. He graduated in the top one-quarter of his medical school class receiving honors in surgery. From there, he completed his internship in general surgery and residency in orthopedic surgery at St. Louis University in Missouri.
