Havelock Middle School enrolls more than 470 students in grades six through eight. Its academic curriculum includes several subjects, such as art, reading, English, science, social studies, mathematics, and health and physical education. The school offers a range of extracurricular activities, including junior beta club, the MATHCOUNTS program, Science Olympiad, student council, yearbook committee, spelling bee competitions and quiz bowl. It provides opportunities for students to participate in various athletic activities, such as baseball, basketball, cheerleading, football, golf, soccer, softball, track and field, volleyball and wrestling. In addition, the school offers reading renaissance, accelerated reader and alternative education programs. Its media center stocks more than 12,000 books, over 50 periodicals and newspapers. Havelock Middle School is a part of Craven County Schools and is located in Havelock, N.C.
