At Interventional Spine & Sports Institute, we employ an Evidence-based, Algorithmic Approach to Non-operative & Interventional Spine, Sports Medicine, and Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. Our approach includes the patient as an integral team member in their own care with a focus on obtaining an accurate diagnosis of the underlying problem by utilizing: -Patient's pertinent medical history, -Complete neurological & musculoskekeltal physical exam based on the best research studies, -Spine & limb biomechanical analysis, -Gait analysis, -Appropriate imaging studies, -Electrodiagnostic studies (EMG) & -Diagnostic spinal injections as necessary. Initial treatment always includes conservative measures which consist of the following: -Medications such as anti-inflammatories, -Physical therapy, & -Therapeutic spinal and peripheral joint injections. -Occasionally, short-term bracing Diagnoses treated include: -Cervical (neck), Thoarcic, & Lumbar disc disruption, disc herniation (bulge/protrusion/extrusion), facet joint arthropathy -Sacroiliac joint dysfunction & pain -Vertebral fractures -Spondylosis (Degenerative changes) -Spondylolysis -Spondylolisthesis (Translation or movement of one vertebral segment over another segment) -Ligament-mediated back pain -Scoliosis -Neuropathic pain related to diabetes, thyroid dysfunction, chemotherapy, etc -Sports & musculoskeletal injuries -Spinal Cord Injuries -Traumatic Brain Injuries -Amputees -Etc
