Mitchell Koch Architects brings together the principal's experience as a builder, with a commitment to the highest quality architectural design. With over twenty years of hands-on construction experience the firm's designs reflect an in-depth understanding of materials and how they go together. Mitchell Koch was a contractor and master carpenter for twenty years prior to getting his Architectural degree from Pratt Institute in 1991. At Kapell and Kostow Architects in New York City he was Project Architect for numerous residential, commercial and institutional projects including NYU Dental School and the facilities of HBO Studio Productions. At Peter Gisolfi Architects in in HastingsNY, his projects included design and construction of new academic buildings at the Pembroke Hill School in Kansas City and the extensive renovation of the Hastings on Hudson Village Hall. Upon opening his own firm in 1998, Mitchell Koch has done primarily residential projects: The firm's work includes the restoration of a Landmarked mansion on Central Park West, the design and construction of a beach house in Prince Edward Island, and various local additions and renovations. The firm benefits from the extensive experience of the Senior Architectural Staff in hospitality architecture, including restaurant and hotel projects. In addition to his practice, Mitchell Koch is a Professor of Computer Aided Design at Marymount College and a member of the Architectural Review Board in Hastings-on-Hudson. Mitchell Koch Architects works closely with clients, responding to the social and architectural context of the site. We are committed to discovering creative design solutions and to bringing them to fruition on time and within budget. At Mitchell Koch Architects the Principal is in charge of every project, working closely with the project architect.
