Kennedy Elementary School is operated by Hastings Public Schools. Based in Hastings, Minn., the school offers classes from grades one through five with an enrolment of more than 550 students every year. It employs more than 20 trained instructors to provide specialized education in arts, music, physical education and media studies. The school also has special education teachers who provide instruction in the areas of speech, language and social work. It offers various services by trained psychologists, nurses, occupational therapists, physical education teachers, and band and orchestra instructors. Kennedy Elementary School has a playground that provides students with a variety of playground equipment, basketball courts, softball fields, and an area for track and field events. The school also provides a hockey rink, recreational ice skating rink, sliding facilities, and space for snowshoeing and cross country skiing.
