Established in 1881, Watkinson School is a private, coeducational institution that serves more than 275 students in grades 6 through 12. The school offers classes in math, science, history, English, and visual and performing arts. Its Thumbprint program features a proposed schedule of classes and afternoon activities for tracking every student s potential. Watkinson School operates a parent association that assists in the promotion of various school activities. In addition, the school provides a variety of athletic activities and recreational programs. It serves students from over 35 towns in the Greater Hartford area in Connecticut. Watkinson School maintains a library and cafeteria.
