Kayla Prokopakis-Campbell, DO Kayla Prokopakis-Campbell, DO, is a sports medicine doctor with AHN Orthopaedic Institute. She is skilled at sports related injuries, emergent musculoskeletal conditions and side line management, and ultrasound guided injections. Dr. Prokopakis-Campbell specializes in athletes with concussions, sports injuries, back pain, bursitis, cortisone injections, diagnostic ultrasound, fracture care, hip pain, joint injections, knee arthritis, knee injuries, labral tears, ligament tears, muscle injuries, neck pain, patellar injuries, osteoarthritis, rotator cuff tears, SI joint pain, shoulder injuries, tendon injuries, platelet rich plasma injection, and overuse injuries. She went to medical school at Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine in Athens, Ohio. Upon completion of medical school, she did her residency at Mercy Health — St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital in Boardman, Ohio and a fellowship in sports medicine at Allegheny Health Network Medical Education Consortium in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Dr. Prokopakis-Campbell is board certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine, along with a certificate of added qualification in Sports Medicine. She believes that she can you can learn the most about a patient and their symptoms just by the history of the issue and spends time listening and speaking to her patients to achieve the best possible outcome. She sees patients ages 10 and older for concussions and 14 and older for musculoskeletal/orthopaedic injuries.
