The Hanover Park Park District is an independent agency that provides parks, facilities and various recreational programs for the community. The park district is responsible for the maintenance, operation and administration of parks and park facilities under its jurisdiction. The park district, located in Hanover Park, Ill., assists people with activities, such as karate, dance, soccer, basketball, gymnastics and swimming lessons. It provides aquatic facility passes, and it also organizes summer camps for children. Additionally, the Hanover Park Park District sponsors various community programs, such as the Youth Activity Supplement Program, which offers economically disadvantaged families an opportunity to enroll their children in various activities offered by the park district. The Hanover Park Park District manages a community center gallery, Hanover Park Lions Club and Village of Hanover Park. Its community center gallery showcases paintings and other artifacts of local artists and students.
