DO NOT RENT HERE. THESE PEOPLE ARE CRIMINALSTHEY WILL CHARGE YOU OUT THE ASS TO MOVE OUT (mine was almost 2,000$) and I didn't even do any damage to the unit. They used me to fix up their units and they will do it to you too. Daryl does not care abouT your financial status, and long as he is making more money and acquiring more wealth and property while the students are barely surviving trying to make a life for themselves, as long as he's making money. Live in your car before you rent from this criminal organization .

Easy and efficient renting. Very nice leasing agent and atmosphere. They really understood the concerns I had for my college daughter moving away from home. They've eased my mind and I know that my child will be happy and safe. Thanks for the reassurance and the efficiency of leasing and your professionalism. Would recommend!

Management is AWFUL! They're units are OK, but only because of location. It's like they harass the kids, just because they can. They hold checks, threaten to tow vehicles that have parking pass, very slow to respond when repairs are needed and are NEVER in the office. Would only recommend as a LAST RESORT.

Since they got a new manager I have been really happy with their service, my apartment looks good and I can walk to school.

We had a wasp infestation, it took them 10 days to rid the apartment of the wasps. My sons could not live in an $800 apartment because they kept getting stung. I did repairs myself because you can not get them to fix anything. The owner is non existent. And they do not do anything until parents get angry and get involved. The renter on the other side of the same unit kept complaining about the wasps too. We asked them to prorate the rent for the 10 days that my sons had to commute from Slidell to Hammond, and they refused. Stating that it was remedied in a timely fashion. 10 days and getting stung because they would not listen to their own tenants. And they lied and said all the wasps were gone. Then The exterminator sent my sons the bill. Then threatening to sue me for liable because I was derogatory. If it was run properly and they took care of their tenants there would not be a problem. Be careful when dealing with them. Smith Properties is not well run at all

Dont expect your security deposits back. Dont expect anything to get fixed in a timely manner and make copies of rent payments or they are trying to cheat you and fine you and do anything else to screw you over.

Do not rent from these crooks. Staff is a complete joke and you never meet owner. Aparments are filthy and falling apart. Refrigerator had mold in it and roaches everywhere. They will not return security deposit.

DO NOT RENT HERE......Apartments are horrbile and stink. Upon my move in i found atleast 30 dead roaches throughout apartment because they had the unit sprayed befor I moved in and left the dead roaches ON THE FLOOR!! Refrigerator had mold in it and lights were not working after I was told apartment was ready for move in. Staff doesn't care about anyone's complaint and will harass you everyday for any owed fees. You will never meet or speak to the owner Darryl Smith so the horrbile staff is your only help. Has been over 3 months since move out and still havn't recieved deposit. Worst experience ever.

The management is horrible. They handle everything very poorly. Once something goes wrong, it's impossible to get it fixed.

Worst place to live, yes the apartments look nice and looks like everything is ok but once something falls apartment its impossible to get the staff to get maintenance requests handled!

What is everyone talking about? I love Smith Properties, More affordable then the other communities in Hammond..

This place was referred to me by another mother. My son started school this year and on his own for the first time. The staff is friendly and I feel my son is safe in their hands. The apartment we rented is perfect for him. At this point I'm a satisfied mom!
