  ATTORNEY LAWRENCE D. SCHOTT has over twenty-eight (28) years of legal experience, specializing in divorce and family law, probate, guardianship, wills, trusts and civil litigation. He received his undergraduate & graduate educations at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida where he was awarded a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science with Honors in 1987, and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Florida College of Law in 1990. Mr. Schott is an active member of the Florida Bar, and continuously in good standing since his admission in 1990( FOR OVER 28 YEARS!). He is also licensed to practice in the United States District Courts for both the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida. Prior to starting his own firm in 1995, Mr. Schott worked for 2 South Florida law firms specializing in insurance defense, both of which afforded Mr. Schott a wealth of hands-on courtroom and full litigation experience in the course of his defending insureds which included major airlines in cases arising from mass casualty airplane crashes, cruise line accidents and other admiralty cases, as well as huge multi-national corporations involved as litigants in a wide-variety of highly complex, multi-million dollar litigation. As such, Mr. Schott brings you his “big firm†experience while always providing his clients with “small firm†attention.

  A guardian may be appointed to exercise limited or total powers over a ward that is, generally, either a minor child, elderly or incapacitated person. It is a useful tool for people who are seeking to legally provide some level and degree of care for others who are not able to fully care for themselves. We can provide you with representation either in initially petitioning the court/applying to establish a guardianship, or in your contesting the establishment of a guardianship. We can also provide you with representation in the administration of a previously established guardianship, or in your contesting the administration of an existing guardianship by some other person or entity.
