C. William Hetzer, Inc. is a Hagerstown, Maryland-based contractor. Our operating radius ranges from 35 to 50-miles from Hagerstown, with much of our activity falling within the Cumberland and Shenandoah Valleys (from Winchester to Chambersburg). As a company focused on direct-hire construction, we self-perform the great majority of our contracting volume. We actively pursue work in the following states and counties: Maryland: Washington & Frederick Counties Virginia: Loudoun & Frederick Counties West Virginia: Berkeley, Jefferson, & Morgan Counties Pennsylvania: Franklin & Fulton Counties Founded in 1950 and incorporated in 1955, we have developed an extensive record over the years in heavy civil, highway, utility, and site construction. We emphasize construction in the following areas: Rock Drilling & Blasting - Earthmoving and Site Grading - Portable Rock & Demolition Crushing & Screening - Imported Select Shale Borrow (from our State Licensed Pit) - Underground Water, Sanitary Sewer, and Storm Drain Utilities - Bituminous Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) Paving (Astec M & Pack Drum Plant constructed in 1995) - Sanitary Waste Landfill Construction - Airport Construction - Highway and Bridge Construction - Treatment Plants (including concrete, process piping, and mechanical equipment installation). Our staff includes five civil engineers (three with PE license), and one registered full-time surveyor with two stakeout crews. But our success is founded on competent on-site supervision, hard-working, dedicated, and experienced tradesmen, and ownership of an extensive and well-maintained fleet of equipment. We work hard to maintain our reputation for performance and quality.
