Founded in 1996, South Effingham Middle School serves students in grades six through eight. Its academic curriculum includes various subjects, such as language arts, mathematics, science and social studies. The school also offers a range of extracurricular activities in music, band and chorus. It organizes several events and activities, such as Science Olympiad and international media festival. South Effingham Middle School provides a variety of sports activities, including baseball, basketball, volleyball, softball, football, tennis, soccer, and track and field. The school also provides medical care and guidance and counseling services to students. Its facility has a media center that organizes various reading events, including book fairs and children s book weeks. Located in Guyton, Ga., South Effingham Middle School is a part of Effingham County Schools, which operates several elementary, middle and high schools. It is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and the Georgia Accrediting Commission.
