  Deep Tissue Massage is a type of massage aimed at at the deeper tissue structures of the muscle and fascia, also called connective tissue. Deep tissue massage uses many of the same movements and techniques as Swedish massage, but the pressure is more intense. It’s a more focused type of massage that works to release chronic muscle tension or knots also known as adhesions.

  Hot Stone Massage was developed in Japan. Since Japan is actively volcanic, many bath houses were built at hot springs. Stones would be heated in the hot water and placed on the back, chest, feet and shoulders. The heat from the stones was found to be physically and mentally therapeutic.The stones create “still points” that draw the mind into a meditative state.
