Gretna Elementary School offers a wide range of academic and extracurricular programs to students in grades kindergarten through six. It provides special education classes in English, arts, writing, reading, math, social studies and science. The school also offers elective academic curriculum, such as fine and performing arts, technology, music, dance and health education. The school also involves students in sports activities and programs, including community and behavioral education and development. The school organizes Thanksgiving and birthday celebrations. It also has a guidance department that offers individual and group counseling to students. It additionally serves daily lunches through its cafeteria and its menu includes various food items, such as fruit salads, shakes, snacks, vegetable mixes and cheese sandwiches.
