Skyland Elementary School enrolls more than 600 students in kindergarten through grade five. Its academic curriculum includes programs in language arts, mathematic, science and social studies. The school s extracurricular activities include student council, field trips, Special Olympics, and chorus, safety patrol and literacy clubs. Skyland Elementary School s facilities include a cafeteria, faculty lounge, playgroud, multipurpose room, media center, health room suite, art and music rooms, science and computer laboratories and more than 30 classrooms. It has a parent-teacher association that organizes book fairs, fall festivals, art exhibitions, roller sports nights, parenting programs and teacher-appreciation functions. In addition, the school operates an after-school literacy club. Skyland Elementary School is located in Greer, S.C., and is a part of Greenville County Schools.
