The Mill House is both my favorite place to get pizza in Greenwood AND my one of my favorite Sunday brunch spots. (My husband greatly appreciates the ability to get a growler of Dunkel whenever we're in town).

I almost always order pizza at The Mill House. My husband and I are not big eaters, so we usually split a pepperoni pizza with EVO. However, I've also tried (and loved!) The Harris Mill and The Chicken Choker.

My dad always orders the Antipasto Salad, and I tend to steal a bit of it. Very generous with the salad toppings.

Once when I wasn't very hungry, I ordered the Prosciutto & Melon as my entree. It was still a lot of food and soooo good.

Service can be inconsistent. I've had amazing service and really slow service. It gets really crowded on Friday and Saturday nights, so be prepared to wait, or ask if you can eat outside.

The beer selection is pretty good, and the bartenders are very helpful if you're an unknowledgeable and picky beer drinker like I am.

Don't waste your time! The service is TERRIBLE. The owner has been rude and unconcerned with costumer service the last 2 times I've been there. We were seated for 30 minutes without a waiter stopping by. We asked the owner for a water, and still no one showed up. He only had 1 other table, but we never even got water after being there over an hour, as we watched tables around us getting drinks, appetizers, and food. So we left.

Terrible service

After being seated 30 minutes, had to flag down a waiter to even order drinks, which we never got. Tables seated after us had drinks, appetizers, and food, and our waiter only had 1 table of 3 people other than us. Spoke with owner, who was rude and completely unconcerned about our lack of service. After an hour without even a water, we left.

The closest to thing "REAL" pizza in these parts. Great wine and beer selection. Thanks for bringing non parbaked crust to Greenwood.

Great potential!

The Mill House has wonderful potential. Overall, the pizzas are great quality and unique from every other restaurant in Greenwood. However, the pastas & sandwichs are not the best for a true brick oven, Italian restaurant. The chicken parmesean is bland and hardly has any cheese. The service at the Mill House is never great. Other than possibly 2 instances, I've never had a good experience. The wait staff is very slack with refills, extra napkins, and time. Most are very nice but I'd rather have my food correct than have a nice person serve it to me.The atmosphere is very trendy and chic for the developing uptown Greenwood. I love the inside look. From the looks of their business, it would be great it they could add on (perhaps do a full bar and small music stage. I still think the Mill House is up and coming and has a lot to build upon. An open bar, better staff, better quality of food- other than pizza (and possibly new menu items)- would definately make it a wonderful restaurant

Millhouse service is amazing!

I have eaten at the Millhouse restaurant several times since my first time this summer. The pizza is great every time, it never falters, but that is not the reason for this review. I must comment on the excellent servers this restaurant has. The tall gentleman that waits tables in particular. As a former server, I like to observe and critique the service, because that is just as important- if not more- than the actual meal.I have been many times on crowded weekend nights with people piling in the door and waiting to be seated. On these same nights, I have witnessed the wait staff efficiently juggle 15-20 tables (approx 50) customers without a sign of confusion. This all with 2 or 3 servers. I couldnt imagine holding down such a customer load with less than 4. And they EXCELL.. again, I especially speak for the taller gentleman waiter, because he always seems in control and efficiently handles his customers along with others who may seek attention. Good food, GREAT Service.

Superb Pizza

I have eaten at the Mill House many times. I love the Big Kahuna pizza. The size is excellent and the taste superb. The price is very reasonable. I have eaten there enough, and have tried several different types, to know the pizza is Not bland. Someone from another restaurant posting negative reviews? I cannot believe anyone who has actually eaten at The Mill House says the food is bland or more expensive than other brick pizza places. It's a wonderful place for the best pizza I have eaten, period!

The Mill House--amazing food experience in Greenwood

I visit the Greenwood area regularly and love great food and restaurants! I live in Charleston, SC which is known for its fine cuisine. The Mill House presents the best of small , casual restaurants--great , fresh food, super atmosphere that manages to appeal to the spectrum of families to singles to professionals, plus a friendly and efficient staff. The pizza and bruschetta (recent addition) are better that any I have eaten anywhere, including Italy!!!I do not know why some reviewers consider the pizza "bland", as the many varieties that I have tried from the Big Kahuna" to Pauly's Preferred to the Veg Out to the Mill House Choker, to several "build your own' have been full of fresh flavors with great cheeses and sauces, on an crisp, light hand tossed crust. The portion size size seems more than ample ( I have a great appetite and regularly take home two to three slices of pizza--it is super as a left-over).I would unconditionally recommend this place!

Great Restaurant and Great Beer Selection

As far as Greenwood is concerned, I think that this is one of. if not the best restaurant in town. The pesto sauce is the best I have ever had. I recommend it, wholeheartedly, even on the chicken Parmesan sandwich. The food is great. The are always trying to improve which is great. The beer selection, especially for a town like Greenwood, is amazing. I have been waiting for the day, when I could get an Oskar Blue's Old Chub in Greenwood. The staff is great and they are willing to listen you customer input. If you don't like something tell them, if you want a particular beer tell them. They go out of their way to please their customers. I filled out a comment card requesting Old Chub and within a month they had it. I don't know of any other place that would do that. Don't believe any of the bad reviews, this place is awesome.

Evolution of Uptown Greenwood

I have lived and eaten all over the United States and the Caribbean. I am a Certified Chef having worked in restaurants from San Diego to Eugene; from Tempe to Charleston; and from Luperon, D.R. to St. John, U.S.V.I. In other words, I KNOW FOOD! The Mill House restaurant has nothing on the menu that reminds me of frozen pizza. The pizzas are made fresh with fresh premium ingredients in an open kitchen fashion to offer the diner not just a meal but a show as well. The bar is merely the barrier between the diner and the open kitchen, serving a dual purpose which is brilliant considering the small space that this eatery occupies. For the people that did not like the food, I assume that you are accustomed to eating at places such as Chucky Cheese if your only desire is for family friendliness. Stick to the buffets and leave the reviews to people that have a more experienced and capable pallet. The food is delicious and the menu has improved adding many more selections. The beer an

Greenwood favorite

For a place with so many horrible reviews, everyone must be a glutton for punishment. We are regulars here, and have enjoyed watching them grow from the start. We STILL enjoy the best pizza in town, and we will continue to come back in the future. Keep up the great work, and don't let the anonymous reviews slow you down. We filled out the survey on the table, and hope they were more positive than what we've seen here. Cheers!

A big miss.....hope they make some changes!!!!

Food--Not very good :o( Bland pizza sauce. Run of the mill cheese and toppings. Crust is pretty good. Price--Way too expensive for size of the pizza. I have eaten at many brickoven pizza restaurants in the southeast and this place is way overpriced for the size/quality of the pizza.Service--Slow service!!! Not very friendly or family oriented restaurant. Atmosphere--Cramped tiny space. Noisy. Fun for kids to watch cooks toss pizzas. Lots of people drinking and acting foolish that seem to be friends with the owners so they are favored by the servers (and make the place not so fun for kids). Overall--I will not go back unless the food is tastier and more reasonably priced. Also when the restaurants feels more like a casual pizza place rather than a bar.

Bland food. Slow service.

I never knew Italian food could be so bland. I found the food to be pretty plain and uninspired. The service was very slow. The servers seem to favor the crowd at the bar drinking rather than the tables eating food. My 8 year old enjoyed the pizza and watching the cooks make the pies. But Mom and Dad need to enjoy the food too. We might order the pizza for a kids' party but will not eat there again since it seems to favor the bar scene more than families. And to the reviewer surprised about the handful of reviews posted (14) for this restaurant, welcome to 2010 and the world of social media. There are tons of reviews for everything now from auto repair shops to hair salons to restaurants. We no longer have to wait on newspapers or 'professionals' to write a review, when they might have a connection to the business. I appreciate the honest, unbiased feedback from average consumers. We would love to return but only if the food had some flavor.

Wow

I've never seen so many reviews for an establishment as young as this one seems to be. A large group of us (7 adults, 4 crazy children) ate here last night, and we were very pleased. The service speed was average, but I noticed that they did fill up within a 15 minute period so it was handled well I suppose. The food was excellent, with the pizzas barely fitting on the plate. The kids were enthralled with the oven and behind-bar cooking, and an owner (I think he was) was behind the bar keeping the kids happy (uncooked dough worked more wonders than I would ever imagine) and running as needed for other staff and customers. Our first time, and we were very happy. Great to see new restaurants with such interactive owners trying to make it work. The short talkative guy (Pauly?) was hilarious, and clearly they try to have fun and keep people happy. We will be back!

Have to agree with the so-called curious reviews.

Interesting, I did a google search to see if my experience was a fluke but see it was not. The pizza is overpriced. Even a professional reviewer commented about this & the serving size on yelp. So who do I trust...the owner, a local paper in a small town where the owner knows the reviewer/writer or internet reviewers. Of all of those, I will go with my own experience. The pizza is better than frozen pizza but it is not the best I ever had. The size is small and prices are high. Might want to re-do your homework or have it checked by someone else....because your math is way off. I wish the restaurant success but I agree with the others and was not overly impressed by this overpriced, mediocre pizza. Hope it improves. And there you have my full disclosure....just a patron with no ties to the restaurant.

Curious reviews - Is one TV too many? What is brick oven pizza??

For full disclosure, I am one of the two owners. I am confused that I have yet to hear a review CLOSE to ANY of these negative reviews seen here. Reality tends to speak for itself... typically folks that are as disappointed as the reviews might lead one to believe would not keep coming back weekly, often daily. Yet they do. How can a review in a local publication rave about food quality, while the reviews here all say 'store bought frozen pizza is better'. This makes no sense. No doubt everyone has different taste opinions of quality and I can respect that, but the slashing reviews I read simply do not add up to the reality I see! Another note... these pizzas are not only priced BELOW every other brick oven eatery in the entire state (yes we did homework), but the size is also LARGER than about half of these same eateries. Come tell us how you feel, or even leave a note if you like. We are here for our patrons and our community, so help us make it right for you!

All hype but no substance

Went to this restaurant a week ago and was not overly impressed. Pizza is bland and not what I expect from a brick oven style restaurant. It is not terrible but the quality & size are not worth the price. The place does cater to those there to drink & watch tv....which is not really family friendly. The service is needs major improvements. Watching the pizza toss is cool though. I think they need to reevaluate their pricing or make the pizzas normal sized.

Amazing!!!

I hate that some of these reviews were so wrong! We go there weekly, and love it! The menu has expanded and the build your own sandwich is amazing! They ave live music on Mondays, my son dances his tush off! This place is just what Greenwood needed! The resturant is very family friendly and the service has improved a bunch! The beer selection is out of this world! I have never seen such a selection in Greenwood. As for the bar, my guess is, its so big because they toss pizzas up in the air ( whiich most kids enjoy the show and want to play with the fake dough big hit for us when we dine!!)and with the huge oven putting off so much heat and takin up so much room, it probably needs to be the size it is. The ingredients taste so fresh, and the spaghetti and meatball are great, best in town! I have yet to find a chicken parm sub anywhere in Greenwood, that tastes as good as theirs! As far as my review goes, if you feel frozen pizzas are that great, your taste buds are bland and frozen pizz
