John H. Cathcart, III, M.D., is an orthopedic surgeon with Orthopaedic Associates of the Lakelands, a physician practice of Self Regional Healthcare. Dr. Cathcart received his undergraduate degree from The Citadel in Charleston, S.C., and his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, S.C. He completed his residency at Georgia Baptist Medical Center in Atlanta, Ga., and a sports medicine and shoulder surgery fellowship at the Hughston Clinic in Columbus, Ga. Dr. Cathcart is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and has a Certificate of Added Qualifications in sports medicine. Dr. Cathcart grew up in Gaffney, S.C. His personal interests include spending time with his family, boating, fishing and outdoor activities of all kinds.
