Greenwood Utilities is a city-owned public utility company that offers a variety of electricity and water services. It is comprised of more than 100 employees and operates various water and electric distribution systems. The company maintains several wells that pump water into storage tanks and distribution mains that disperse water to the consumers. Greenwood Utilities provides economic development and environment protection services, as well as is responsible for the efficient use of resources. It serves city hall, police departments, fire stations, public works department, libraries, Greenwood city schools, sanitary sewer pumps, treatment plants, and parks and playgrounds. The company is a member of the Municipal Energy Agency of Mississippi.
