The Greenwich Fire Department provides fire prevention services in Greenwich, Conn. Its staff consists of uniformed and volunteer fire fighters. The Greenwich Fire Department s staff responds to more than 4,000 emergency calls each year from eight stations located throughout the town. It responds to minor fire alarm activations, structure fires, motor vehicle accidents and hazardous materials-related incidents. It operates through engine, ladder and rescue companies. Its volunteers also provide emergency services. It provides medical coverage, life insurance, gym membership, uniforms and training stipends to the volunteers. It offers a paid fire watch service for town and private functions.
