Established in 1964, the Mental Health Association in Westmoreland County is a United Way agency that offers community-based services related to mental health. It provides educational materials and training for physicians, school personnel and employers. The organization offers workshops on topics related to mental health illnesses, substance abuse at workplace, and balanced and restorative justice. The Mental Health Association in Westmoreland County maintains a drop-in center and provides various services, including socialization activities and crafts and computer classes, as well as conducts group discussions. Additionally, it offers information and advocacy services. The organization also provides a bi-annual newsletter called Mind Matters.
