Founded in 1977, Save-A-Lot is one of the leading grocery chains in the United States operating more than 1,200 value-oriented stores nationwide. Based in Greensboro, N.C., the store provides beef, pork and poultry products as well as farm-fresh fruits, vegetables and non-food items. It also carries eggs, dairy products, frozen food, rice, pasta, beans, cereals, baby care products and baked goods. Save-A-Lot offers products from numerous manufacturing companies, including Kaskey's, Ginger Evans, Port Side and Shaner's. It is a subsidiary of SUPERVALU Inc., one of the nation's largest companies in the grocery business.
