General Info

We brew our own beers at our brewery on Hope Street; we bake our own desserts; and our bar and kitchen menu has a variety of meals and appetizers that we hope will satisfy you. Whenever possible we serve organic foods supplied by local growers and producers. Our dishes are oriented around seasonal New England fruits and vegetables supplied by local farmers. Our priority is not only to provide you with fresh drinks and tasty food but to do it with as little waste as possible. You might notice that no disposable plastic and a minimum of paper items will appear on your table. Also, you may be pleased to know that all kitchen and dining room food scraps are composted and all plastic, cardboard, paper, glass and metal is recycled. Our brewery grain is fed to pigs and goats in Gill. As a result, even on our busiest night, we have not disposed of more than one barrel of trash. We hope that the knowledge of your participation in this ongoing act of environmental goodwill enhances the time you spend at The People's Pint.We brew our own beers at our brewery on Hope Street; we bake our own desserts; and our bar and kitchen menu has a variety of meals and appetizers that we hope will satisfy you. Food good, beer OK, service terrible

'The Pint,' as it is known locally, is a small, homey brewpub in downtown Greenfield. Their beer is decent. I think it's at least as good as the overrated McNeill's in Brattleboro, if not better. They do have one-two beers on cask each night, which is a nice feature for those who like cask-conditioned ale. The food at the Pint is actually pretty good. It's all fresh, mostly local, and well cooked. The burgers are especially good, and they have a choice of grass-fed beef, turkey, salmon, and veggie burgers. The problem at the Pint is the service. Even on nights when it's not crowded, you may be ignored for a good while when waiting to be seated. Once you are seated, things rarely improve. Once or twice, I've had a good waitress, but the usual service is slowness mixed with attitude. I've rarely felt warmly greeted and getting a refill on your drink can require getting up and going to the bar yourself. It's a shame, as the place has potential, but they really need better service.
