      Dr. Neil Tanna is a Double Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon with a practice focused on cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the face and breast. Dr. Tanna is a leader in his field, a respected educator, and a prolific author. He serves as Professor of Surgery at Zucker School of Medicine, Associate Program Director of Plastic Surgery at Northwell Health, and Medical Director of the Northwell Health Syosset SurgiCenter.Dr. Tanna is among a very small group of Plastic Surgeons in the world to have completed formal training in Otolaryngology, Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, and Microvascular Surgery. After completing his medical training in one of the few combined six-year accelerated track medical programs in the country, Dr. Tanna spent an additional eight years training to become a Plastic Surgeon. He completed a full Otolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery residency at The George Washington University. He then pursued further training and completed a second full residency in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at the prestigious University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). This was followed by a fellowship in advanced reconstructive and microvascular surgery at the Institute of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery at New York University (NYU).Dr. Neil Tanna is passionate about the art and science of plastic surgery. His work has been published in over 90 peer-reviewed articles in prestigious medical journals. He has been invited to present at more than 100 national and international scientific meetings. He is an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, and the American College of Surgeons.In 2018, Dr. Tanna was promoted to the rank of Professor of Plastic Surgery with the Zucker School of Medicine, making him one of the youngest full professors at Northwell Health. This title was granted after rigorous internal and external review of Dr. Tanna s extraordinary accomplishments. This rank has national significance, as the average full professor in the United States is 55 years old.As a leader in his field, Dr. Tanna has often been featured in national and international media outlets. He has frequently appeared on television and in award-winning newspapers and magazines. Among several noteworthy honors and awards, Dr. Tanna has also been listed in the New York Magazine Top Doctors, Castle Connolly Top Doctors, New York Times Super Doctors, and Newsday Top Doctors lists. This is a prestigious honor that is reserved for the small percentage of top practitioners that are true standouts in their field, nominated by their peers. Only the most accomplished plastic surgeons are chosen for inclusion on these lists.
