We were not treated well from the start we went to sushi bar while waiting and got drinks and sushi mind you it was 6 of us and the manager asked us is it ok all I did was ask if we could have a tab cause we were waiting he just said I speak English you know he was rude and that kind of service continued even though we had a 22 yr old Japanese exchange student here who could translate maybe say oops on manager

Even though I called about the coupon in this ad, they would not accept it. food good. Manager RUDE.

I have never had such horrible food poisoning in my life. My girlfriend and I went there after a long day and sat at the sushi bar. We both ordered sushi, and within 12 hours were throwing up uncontrollably with some other embarrassing symptoms. the place is FILTHY. I have eaten at plenty of restaurants my entire life as I travel frequently, but NEVER have I ever gotten this ill. Do yourself and loved ones a favor and don't risk the horrible food poisoning. Also, they deserve ZERO stars!

We went to Kobe in Grandville to celebrate a birthday in the family. Have been looking forward to this for a while. The service and food was great but at the end we presented a 10$ certificate from restaurant.com that we purchased. The server told us then that the certificate was not valid since some other couple at our table used this certificate as well. We were not associated with this couple at all and didnt even talk to them. Then the server apologized becuase she thought it "was a stupid rule" too! That is when it got bad. The manager started to walk over and stated that since someone else at the table used a certificate, we could not. On the certificate it clearly stated that only one certificate per party. Ok. that is great. We were only trying to use one with our party. We would have understood if we tried to use more than one, but we were only using 10$ on a bill of 150$. He didnt want to even listen to us or anything. I have not been treated so rudely in my life...let alone by a manager! He said it doesnt matter if we were not associated with the couple at our table. After a lot of legit complaining from me, he agreed to take it this once. He stormed away and came back and said since they added gratuity we didnt even save that much anyways. What a jerk. This is the same guy who accused me of lying one time. I went in there a couple months ago when they had their early dinner special. If you went in before 6:30 it was a discounted price. I arrived at 6:15 and was sat at the table. Before they can take your order, the whole table has to be sat.While I was sitting there with a drink, it then turned 6:30. I asked the waitress if I could still get the discount since I arrived well before 6:30. She said yes since I was there early. SHortly the manager came out from the back of the kitchen and stated that I could not. He said he "WATCHED" me come in after 6:30. WTF? at that time it was barely 6:30 when he was talking to me after all this happened! He said he saw me come in (from the back in the kitchen..) and I could not get the special. This was after the waitress said that I could get it since she sat me and clearly knew I was there way before the special was over. What a bunch of bull. This is the worst management I have ever seen. Beware if you go here! Wonderful food and service, but dont expect anything from the manager. He should not be in management whatsoever. Maybe at McDonalds.....IF THAT

I have been there many times and i could only say one bad thing and it was with the guy waiter who came out to my car and asked for a bigger tip....Other then that I love the place and would tell everyone that they have to try it once because you will love it and go again

I would give a zero star rating if I could. Worst experience at a restaruant ever. My wife and I went for a nice dinner out. We had a coupon that we had printed from valpak.com. We presented it as soon as we were seated and before we ordered. After we ordered and had received our drinks, salad and soup the waitress informed us that the coupon was not valid. We explained to her that we didn't understand why. She was very polite and informed us that she would have the manager come and see us. Well, that's when things went bad. I have never been treated so rudely - basically accused us of copying the coupon. I explained that we had printed from valpak.com. He didn't care - just accused us of trying to cheat. I decided that I had heard enough and said that we were leaving. At some point I asked him why he was being such a jackass. Of course I didn't get a response. He wanted to just continue arguing and followed us to the parking lot were he informed us that we had to pay for our food (drink, half eaten soup and salad). I told him to forget it and that we were leaving which is when he threatened to call the police. Well, we ended up paying $13 for the food and drink. Oh by the way the best part is when he told us that he didn't need this F$#@ing stuff more than once. What a business! Will never go there again and I urge everyone else to skip this coupon in your valpak.

I recently went there to show my girllfriend a good time. I went to this one in 04' when they first opened and had my birthday party in 06 in chandler Arizona at another one. I was so disapointed. I took nearly 45 minutes for them to even get started cooking our lunch. They were waiting for another group of people to get there so they wouldn't have to open 2 grills I guess. I would have rather them cook It in the back rather to wait for the group to get bigger. I think I'll go to Iciban next time.

Great food and atmosphere; but is on the pricey side.

A few of my girlfriends and I went to Kobe for dinner. We were seated within 20 minutes on a busy night. Received our drinks and ordered our food... we proceeded to hand our server the coupon that we had. She said that it had the same # on it and we could only use one. Well the weeks prior to this we had been to Kobe as well and used the coupons from that website as well (www.valpak.com) never had a problem before. So we were a little frustrated but understood, she brought the manager out... OH MY GOSH, you would of thought we were trying to steal all the liquor in that place. He was actually the owner of the restaurant and DID NOT CARE if we stayed or left. I was appauled that a restaurant owner would have no respect for his customers. We were fully prepared to pay full price... he insisted that we were "cheaters" and never had the right coupon.. HELLO, they are FREE online!!!! It made no sense to us, so after him disrespecting us for 5 minutes we were like... ummm whatever were out of here. I tapped the owner on the shoulder and said, "you just lost a lot of business over that" and he responded "ooooh, 4 people, thats a lot of business to me" he had NO regard to keep a customer... I was just in shock.



The facility has also gone down hill in the cleanliness department... I would definitely NEVER go there again....

Entertaining and delicious food- family or date night appropriate.
