- Medical Weight LossGrand Health Partners is committed to the highest quality care for our patients, in both Grand Rapids and Petoskey MI, and to their long term weight loss success.
- Primary CareYou may have your labs done at any Laboratory that participates with your particular insurance. We will put all of your diagnosis on the lab slip so that they can bill the services for medical necessity. Many times patients have coverage for labs only for preventative health. We are a specialty office and can not code the lab request for preventative health. If you have this stipulation on your insurance policy, you can talk with your Primary Care Physician and they may be able to order the labs that we need with your regular preventative health labs.
- Emergency CareWhen you receive emergency care or treatment by an out-of-network provider at an in-network hospital or ambulatory surgical center, you are protected from balance billing. Which means, you shouldn’t be charged more than your plan’s copayments, coinsurance and/or deductible.
- ColonoscopyIf you have an appointment scheduled with GHP for an EGD or colonoscopy, please click on these forms for additional pre-op information.
- Internal Medicine
- Colon CancerAn outpatient examination of the lining of the colon (large intestine) and rectum. This is routinely performed to screen for colon cancer beginning at the age of 50.
- EndoscopyAn endoscopy is a way of looking inside of the body by inserting a flexible, thin tube, equipped with a camera. This helps our surgeons evaluate symptoms, look for possible ulcers, take biopsies, (for example, H. Pylori, a stomach bacteria that causes ulcers) evaluate for reflux, and other endoscopic procedures. Expect to arrive 60 minutes before the endoscopy and to be here 30-60 minutes after the endoscopy for recovery.
- Behavioral HealthOur Grand Rapids office location serves as the hub for all weight loss services we provide throughout west Michigan. Your appointments for surgical consultation, pre and post-surgery visits, medical weight loss appointments, and visits with our dietician, behavioral health, and exercise physiology specialists can be scheduled in one convenient location. While endoscopy procedures are performed at our office location, your surgery will be performed at either Trinity Health Grand Rapids Hospital or University of Michigan Health-West Hospital in Grand Rapids.

- RadiologyBan out-of-network charges and balance bills for supplemental care (like anesthesiology or radiology) by out-of-network providers who work at an in-network facility.
- General SurgeryGeneral surgery requires knowledge of a broad spectrum of diseases that may require treatment. Whenever possible, we prefer a laparoscopic approach to surgery because it is has been shown to reduce pain, minimize scarring, shorten the patient’s stay in the hospital, and provide a quicker return to “normal†activities.

- LaparoscopyWhat is laparoscopic surgery? Compared to open surgery, laparoscopy is minimally invasive because the surgeon makes smaller incisions; these incisions can be further away from the site of operation within the body. The tools the surgeon uses are smaller and longer than in open surgery, and the surgeon is aided by a small camera.

- Bariatric SurgeryRevisions of bariatric surgeries are technically difficult and should only be performed by an experienced bariatric surgeon with a multi-disciplinary team to help support the patient through this process prior to and after surgery. Because revisional bariatric surgery is complex, the risk for complications is greater for the patient than someone who is seeking bariatric surgery for the first time. Therefore, each patient seeking revisional bariatric surgery is evaluated on an individual basis by our bariatric team of experts, to ensure they are an appropriate candidate for surgery and to determine what surgical procedure is their best option.
