DeVries Jewelry was founded back in 1901 by Siebern DeVries. Four generations later, the DeVries family still strives every day to earn the confidence of its customers by exceeding their expectations with quality merchandise, unsurpassed personal service and a knowledgeable staff. DeVries Jewelry is affiliated with many of the jewelry industry's most respected organizations including Retail Jewelers Association, Independent Jewelers Association, Jewelers of America and the Gemological Institute of America. I went to DeVries on advice from a jewelry department employee of Meijer to see if they could shorten my Mom's wristwatch band. Mom is 93 and has very small wrists. I was expecting to pay 5 or 7 dollars. The store was busy because it was the eve of Christmas Eve. It took a while to get one of the busy workers to wait on me - about 40 seconds. The guy said it was a tough one and he would rather have had my Mom there to size it correctly. He took out the number of links that I had estimated. That took a while too - about 10 or 15 minutes. He put the expensive watch (around $20 from Meijer) in a small plastic bag with the extra links he removed. He said if he had to add links back on it could be done. When I asked how much I owed he said "Merry Christmas". I had dust in my eyes so it was hard to say Merry Christmas back to him. This place is terrible.

We thought this would be a great place to buy a diamond ring because they seemed nice and had been around so long. We have had nothing but trouble with our engagement ring. The diamond fell out twice, their service was slow. Then a few months later we heard from one of our friends that they didn't like DeVries either. I would not shop here!

These folks go above and beyond the usual retail experience. You are treated like family and never, ever feel as if you are being taken advantage of. Their extensive knowledge is happily passed on to the customer so you can make in informed decision. They understand that sometimes it is an emotional decision and help with that as well. You simply cannot go wrong making DeVries your personal jewelers.
