FUN FUN FUN

What a great place to go and hang out. They have a huge restaurant with 3 different bars. They have a very large patio and live music on the weekends. They have something going all almost everynight! The food was awesome and the staff was very friendly. I will definitely be going back often.

the king

Our party of six was there on 8/27/09 for dinner. While the food was good, notice I didn't say it was great, the service was horrible. Had to flag the waiter down just to get tea & water refills. One of the orders was for chicken fried chicken but was delivered to the table as chicken fried steak. At least the chicken fried part was right. Fifteen minutes past before the correct order was brought to the table. Then the check arrived. We were charged for two chicken fried steak dinners and a shrimp dinner. No shrimp dinner was ordered by our party nor were the chicken fried steak dinners. We brought it to the waiters attention. His response was lame at best but did remove the items. Then the check showed an 18% gratuity charge for our party of six. The menu clearly stated a gratuity would automatically be charged for parties of eight or more. When we asked the waiter he didn't know but said he would ask the manager. Upon returning to our table in record time we were informed their policy had changed and parties of six or more would automatically be charged. We protested saying the menu stated eight. He argued and said six was correct that it just hadn't been corrected on the menu. He kept referring to me as 'boss'. While that might sound OK if everything is right, it sounded a bit sarcastic after having all the problems we encountered. To make things worse, we were charged the 18% gratuity on the first check with the extra items they tried to charge us for. I would say you better double check what you are paying for or you may be 'gouged' like we were. We won't be going back!

GREAT Steaks and Service !

The Oasis steaks are the Best! MY wife wanted a steak at lunch time the other day. One of our usual steak houses does not open for lunch. We had heard that the Oasis was now serving Angus steaks. So.. we tried them out. First, our server was wonderful ! She greeted us with a pretty smile, and was very attentive. My wife wanted a "warm drink" and our server suggested something made with coffee, I forget the name. My wife "loved it" (she had a second) When we got our food the REAL surprise began! Both steaks were cooked to perfection, (Medium & Medium Rare as ordered) baked potatoes with all the trimmings, (real bacon bits, not bacos) and fresh grilled vegetables. I can honestly say these were "The Best Steaks" we had in a long time! Tender, Juicy and Flavorful, tasted like a steak, NOT Seasoned meat. We now have a new "Steak House". Not to mention the view of Joe Pool Lake! (no other steak house has that!)

Waitress added additional tip to our credit cards!!

After a good day on the lake, we visited Oasis. We had a table of four and were told to go out on the patio and find our own table if there was one, the food was just ok. Our waitress was, Heather. I had to beg for lemonade as she returned to our table 3 times with various other items before explaining to me that she must go inside for lemonade and she hasn't made it inside yet. THEN THE REAL PROBLEM, we paid with 2 different credit cards and noted on the tip portion of the receipts "Paid tip in cash" and totalled the amount with out a tip on the credit card receipt. We actually left her 15% which I thought was way too much for her service, but anyway...3 days later, when the charges hit our credit cards, not only did she take her tip in cash, but 20% was added to each credit card charge for an additional tip!!!! I called the manager and he basically just gave me the accountants phone number to call and get the money refunded. NO APOLOGY, he didn't even ask which waitress it was. He really didn't care nor did he do anything about it. We will never go back.

Fort Worth Taco Man

Where do you start? Well I start by getting a seat on the outside deck so I can enjoy the lake without owning a boat! Then I order a cold beer from one of many pretty waitresses and order what I came for. I didn't get the name "Taco Man" for nothin!.

I have been all over the Metroplex and NOBODY can beat their fish tacos. They actually put sizable pieces of fish in them not like the sparsely made bits of fish tacos that prevail elsewhere. After I have eaten my first taco, I grab that pretty waitress and order another beer. I am tempted to order a 1/2 rack of ribs but by now I am getting full. Those tacos are filling!

The crowd outside is pretty friendly, but of course they have a good bar. A nice atmosphere with the lake, nice breeze, boats to watch, and of course those waitresses. They all appear to be working their way through college, so tip them well!

Did I mention the ribs and chicken? I eat here a lot but the FISH TACOS are to die for.
