I have an open plan insurance, but because my insurance is not in "their" network of insurance they will not except what insurance allows for my ER visit and after insurance payment, I have a bill of $6,385.11 left over that is non negotiable, because "we do not negotiate payment unless your bill is over $25,000" not to mention the bill had nothing on it for what was being billed, I had to call and request details for the charges! Called today with insurance provider on the phone and asked whom we could fax an offer for payment to and was told "if you send an offer in it will go from the fax to the shredder" REALLY? nice customer service, but better than I received while in there care... I was also told that we could have made those arrangements while at the ER? I was never offered any options for payment, I had to find someone to get out after just sitting waiting and was told we are waiting on your paperwork "as the 2 Dr's. sat and played games on the computer and laughed and talked about going out" paperwork that I did not receive upon exit, nor was I told anything about what was found in test results after a CT scan, EKG "which I might add didn't work properly and was hooked up to me for 20 SECONDS!" I would not recommend this facility for any emergencies, because in the end it will cost! When asked if I was 65 would the payment from insurance been excepted they replied "that someone of that age having Medicare would have been deemed an in network provider, so yes they would have excepted what my Insurance paid as payment" I then asked if they charge everyone the same, she said "yes, and that they except what an in network Insurance would deem allowable for charges and that would have been payment in full" so because I am not 65 and because my open plan insurance is not "In network with Medical City ER" my insurance payment is not enough! doesn't sound like everyone is charged the same to me, Insurance payment is an Insurance payment, funny how if the same amount would have come from another provider that the payment would have been deemed sufficient payment for services rendered. "Services" this word with this ER is subjective.

I had been sick for a week. I came to your facility and paid my $100 copay. I was told I was sick, and to go home and see my doctor. The doctors there did nothing. I was sent home. Two weeks later I had enough money to see a different doctor. The copay was only $40. I was given 3 medications. I began feeling better the next day. In addition to the money I already paid, I received 2 bills in the mail. One from the hospital for over $300 for all of the nothing that was done. Another for over $100 from the doctor who also did nothing. I will never come again, and I have made sure everyone I know hears how I was -not- treated.
