The Goose Creek Police Department is a full-service law enforcement agency that is nationally accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies. It preserves peace, protects residents lives and their property, arrests violators, and prevents and deters crime. The Goose Creek Police Department maintains a citizens police academy that provides programs and services for crime prevention in association with the residents. The department also offers a variety of victim and witness support services, such as court information, emotional support, personal advocacy and victim compensation. The Goose Creek Police Department operates the Special Response Team (SRT), which responds to critical incidents, such as barricaded gunmen, high-risk warrant arrests, drug search warrants, hostage situations and domestic terrorism.
