Verdugo Woodlands Elementary School is a learning center that is governed by the Glendale Unified School District, which serves more than 30,000 students through over 30 elementary, middle and high schools. The school enrolls students in kindergarten through grade six. It provides gifted and talented education and English Language Development programs. The school conducts conflict resolution and character education sessions. Verdugo Woodlands Elementary School also supports classes in physical education and instrumental music, as well as offers extracurricular activities, including orchestra and chorus. The school organizes several events, such as family reading nights, food drives and fall festivals. It operates a parent-teacher association that conducts fundraising activities. Located in Glendale, Calif., Verdugo Woodlands Elementary School publishes a newsletter, Echoes, which carries updates on upcoming school activities.
