The Southern California Music Company -founded in 1880- is listed in the California Historical Association as the oldest music store in Los Angeles and the second oldest in California. It is also the 25th oldest music store in the U.S. When the company was established, Los Angeles had a growing population of 12,000. By 1898 we had one of the first telephones in the city, number 585. Our display ad was advertising the "talking machine" known as the phonograph, for the price of $1.00 down and $0.50 cents a week "with good credit ". You might get a kick out of knowing that our original six-story building in downtown Los Angeles, sported the first antennae pioneering a new technology: Television. How about that? In 136 years of uninterrupted business, our location has changed, ownership has changed but not our motto of providing quality service and instruments to consumers.

After searching far and wide for a good piano at the right price, I found Southern California Music Company fit the bill. They had a good selection of new and used pianos in excellent condition, and were very easy to work with. Mario took the time to answer all my questions, never made a hard sale, and was patient with my many questions. I ended up buying a new piano from them, felt like I got a very reasonable price, and the customer service was excellent. I highly recommend them!
