Columbus Elementary School, located in Glendale, Calif., is a Title I school. Its programs include classes in English and other subjects, significant intersession program, after-school tutoring, bilingual programs and preschool programs. The teachers provide parenting support sessions to parents in the classroom setting and special education for students with special needs. It has a fully equipped library and resource center and its extracurricular programs include chorus and orchestra. Columbus Elementary School also provides field trips and choir programs, and various sports activities, including volleyball, basketball, football and softball. It is a California Distinguished School and is operated by the Glendale Unified School District.
