It's an amazing camp!!!!

Kids came back sick with vomiting and fever in week 4 of Summer camp 2010. Parents who did not want to send their kid the following week (week 5) to avoid getting the virus were ignored by the AYF office with their requests for refunds. If parents call with concerns or complaints the AYF office just ignores them or tells them no one has else complained. Numerous parents have experienced this in summer 2010. This organization's actions of ignoring parents' legitimate complaints about camp rule violations are shameful and unethical. Don't waste your money and time. There are plenty of great summer camps around, just avoid AYF summer camp!!!

Disasterous summer camp!! Do not send your kids to AYF summer camp!! Many camp rule violations occur, e.g. counselors were seen by campers to be smoking, drinking alcohol, and cursing. Kids were taken on an overnight hike without shelter without parent notification or parental consent. Kids came back feeling sick and had diarrhea, vomiting and fever. Campers reported that the pool had algae, and that the food was poor. Campers were raided with shaving cream and older campers were witnessed by camp counselors to hit younger campers and did not intervene. One camp director threatened the campers to give them a punishment ("batij") of having to lay in the mud at night to be hosed down with water!!! Many parents have complained by calling the AYF office in Glendale, CA only to have their concerns dismissed rather than addressed. How has this organization been getting away with these violations?
