Okay, so I'm feeling a little saucy the other day. So I go online to find the BBQ Joint to go to, the choices were somewhat slim, I chose Thee Pitt's Again. Truthfully, wasn't sure what to think whenI pulled up to the Diner. I ordered a half-slab of ribs, coleslaw, fries and a coke.
I have had my fair share of Ribs, from places they are called racks to places their called slabs, from ""wet"" to ""dry"" smoked, boiled,YUCK, to broiled, braised yada yadayada. THE Best Pork Ribs I have Ever Eaten HANDS DOWN. Good Meaty Flavor, Sauce works well with it, Fries were good with the sauce, Coleslaw, better than most Corn bread was a nice finish with that Honey Butter, Come on! If you can find a better Rib anywhere around and Prove it, I'll buy your Lunch.
Service was Good, They could have brought that plate to me on the back of a donkey and I wouldn't complain.

The food was over salted. The Beef Brisket and ribs were dry. The coleslaw had no flavor. Service was horrible. They condone bad behavior from their employees, especially their cook. There grilled cheese sandwiches for children is a piece of cheese melted between a hamburger bun. Do not eat here!!! Poorly run and operated. Not up to standards for being a so called champion diner.

We went to Thee Pits Again for my birthday celebration because I had eaten there once before and liked it, and it was in Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. Well, it qualifies as a dive. We were seated for several minutes, and watched another party be seated and served before anyone even came and asked us about drinks. My wife had to go and get someone to wait on our table. Another party seated next to us also complained about the lack of wait staff. Then we ordered a grilled cheese sandwich plate for my daughter and it wasn't even grilled; it was a piece of cold cheese on bread. Then I saw an insect crawling on the lettuce leaf garnishing my plate, but I said nothing because my wife was taking me there for my birthday the experience was already bad enough. I will never go there again.

I have lived in Arizona my whole life and the day I saw Thee Pitts on the food network was when I realized I def need to try this place. I brought my parents from out of town and they were amazed!! My dad being the food critic couldnt be any happier. Mom finding the establishment absolutly adorible and the food to die for was in heaven. I personally got the pork and slaw, the meat was so tender and moist and the whole made coleslaw was to die for. We had also ordered the appitizer platter wow was that awsome!! the vegtables were fresh! I couldnt belive it!!! and for dessert of course were couldnt just pich one we tried the whole made bread pudding peach cobbler and we couldnt say no to a deep fried twinki! I had to say the whole experience was outstanding. I will continue to recamend Thee Pitts to everyone I know . To this day It is my weekly diner

i came it last weekend with my whole family and loved it so much i had to tell more people about it. the atmosphere was very enjoyable and kid friendly. we had my two grandchildren with us and the place is filled with pigs, pigs everywhere more than i could count. they loved it and were so happy from the second we entered and they ended up not wanting to leave. and then the food was so good. must of us got the ribs and pulled pork meals which was way better than i had expected. how could i have not heard of this place before now. but my daughter got the hamberger and she loved it, said it was one of the better burgers she had ever had. i was very surprised . this place has great family appeal and wonderful food, we will definatly be back very soon..!!!

we just had a huge event catered by thee pitts agian...i cant say we had one person who wasnt happy with the food. they came and dropped everything off and was on time. they made sure everything was ok before they left. and i have eaten at their place before so i knew the food was good, amazing at that. but everything they brought use was no diffeerent from what is served at their place, it was so good and everythihng went very well. i just wanted to left everyone know if you love BBQ you will love thee pitts agian, and if you are looking for good catering then give them a call. i was very hapy with everything and plan on returning very soon.
thank you thee pitts again!!!
I have to say I am absolutely flabbergasted at what some of these reviews are saying! My entire family and I have been eating here for years and have always had impeccable service and meals! We never have to wait, even when its busy and we are well attended to.My kids LOVE everythig on the menu, instead of one or two things like at other places. Its a great place to try something new every time you go in,especially the ribs and the 3 meat combo, its a ton of food and youll get more than your moneys worth. Its got a great country feel and the family that owns and manages and even cooks here are as friendly as can be.They've made it on TV,who knows whats next for them.
Me and my family went out to eat yesterday at the best bbq restaurant anyone could ever find. Its a family owned establisment which has won anumerous amounts of trophies from going to bbq compititions and has even been on Diners, Dives and Drive Ins. It was a little busy when we arived but we were seat as soon as we walked in. The server seated us and said she would be right back to help us leaving us a few minutes to glance over the menu in order to know what drinks they offer and notice what yummy sounding appitizers they had. when she returned we ordered our drinks and some breaded mushrooms...those were the best we had ever had.....to our understanding they make their own batter in which they fry their foods with. Having a small child with us we ordered two combo platters to share which when we recieved them, were two plates full of meat(about a pound). the meat was amazing and had a great taste including the bbq sauce. so so far we had had an amazing expierence. When we were finished the server asked us about dessert....wow they had so many wonderful things to choose from. We ended up splitting a bread pudding which was their own recipe...also one of the best we have ever tried. so our overall expierence was great. we would go back any time...we took the time to realize that it being a family owned restaurant and having half the size of kitchen and half as many servers as any other place has....it was amazing. The servers were very friendly and managed to keep a smile on there face even when they were busy. And i want to thank the cooks for doing such a good job keeping up and managing to serve the food in a timely manner even when busy. everyone should try this place and you would be amazed......One of the best!!!
This place has a very charming atmosphere, unlike most commercial restaurants. Its ammaculate and has very friendly servers. We were sat as soon as we walked through the door to a cozy corner booth next to some windows. You cant help but just look in awe at the amount of trophies the place has won over the years,i hear its over 200!We heard about Thee Pitts Again when my husband and I were watching Diners Drive ins and Dives and are very glad we did.Together we ordered some fried pickles(which were amazing and worth trying.I ordered the pulled pork which was tasty. All the portions were HUGE and the BBQ sauce was great. They have a massive amount of sides to choose from as well so its impossible for anyone not to like something or other. My husband ordered the combo dinner where he was able to choose 3 meats and 2 sides. He was greeted by a massive plate full of food that was enough for dinner the next day.I highly recommend eating at this awesome BBQ place!
i love how some people go on here and have no idea what they are talking about and think they have a right to make so sort of intellegent review....oh well...here is mine
we got seated right away even though it seemed to be fairly busy for the size of the place.....i got the combo dinner and my wife got the half slab...my kids got mac and chesse and burger...the kids menu is great they had many options for them to chose from....we got our food in a timely manner and the portions were very large....and my combo came with all kinds of meat , ham pork beek ribs two kinds...the pork was my favorite...i wish i had got more ribs like my wife but next time i will, they were delicious also...but anyway i had way more food than i needed which was great cause i love taking extra homw...oh and i got two sides with my meal on top of all the meats...i got frys which were awesome best frys i have ever had and potato salad which was also very good it was mayo based and i could tell they made it there....my wife loved here ribs and my kids seemed to liek their food also . they didnt say much just got food everywhere.....we were gonna get two desserts but decided on just one...we got the bread pudding i cant tell you how good that was....we all loved it.....but all and all everything was very good we will definately be going back soon and cant wait....
oh i forgot i picked up a bottle of sauce on my way out...best stuff ive had in a long time and they sell it at teh counter which i thought was a really good idea.

The title says it all! 6 of us went here to enjoy some BBQ pulled pork sandwitches, and honestly they were pretty good. My only problem is when I got the bill and they automaticly added an 18% gratuity to it! What? Unbelievable!!!!!! WHAT? My 6 year old daughter could have waited that table! That came to $15 something bucks for a 45 minute sit down to serve sandwitches and drinks. There were only 2 other couples in the entire diner. Not exactly swampted. I take tipping very, very seriously. So let me tell you something ---- Tips are EARNED!!!!!!!! Not expexted! Tips are to be rewarded according to the quality of service provided AND at a resonable percentage. What gives you the right to force me to pay your employee. That is your responsibility! Good tips, Bad tips, NO tips, are all part of the GIG for being a waiter/ waitress!!! Our waitress did a good job and would have recieved a generous tip all by herself. By the way Im curious how much of that 18% she actually got? However this experience has offically BENT me and my family from ever, ever returning to dine here again!!! I hope that 18% was well worth it..... I assure you I will spread the word!!!!!!!!!!!! SHAME, SHAME, SHAME ON YOU!!!!!!!!!! By the way, in times like these, customers like us keep you in bussiness!!!!!! GOOD LUCK!

Like others, we decided to try Thee Pitts Again after seeing it featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. We were disappointed. We realized the service would be bad when the server took our drink order, and then returned ten minutes later (without the drinks) to take our food order. The restaurant was not that busy. They had several empty tables. We could not figure out what was taking so long because if the food is cooked/smoked for hours before, there's no reason it should take more than ten minutes to put the meat on the plate, dish the beans into a bowl, and deliver the food to our table. It took 45 minutes to get our food and while waiting we had to ask for drink refills and ask the server to check on our order. Other tables around us were complaining about the long wait, too. My pulled-pork sandwich was good, but no better than the ones served at El Paso BBQ or Honey Bear's BBQ. My husband got a combo platter including turkey, chicken and pork. He agreed that the taste and quantity were no better than other BBQ joints in Phoenix. The BBQ sauce was so-so, with my husband remarking that he could taste the ketchup and mustard in the blend.
My husband is in the food service business and we are usually understanding when a restaurant is busy or a server is in the weeds, but that was no the case here. Funny thing is we had planned to order a pound of pulled turkey and a pound to pulled chicken to take home and eat during the week, but after the slow and inattentive service, we didn't want to wait another 45 minutes for them to prepare the take-out order. The slow waitress cost them an additional $20 in sales. As we drove away, my husband and I agreed that we probably won't return.

I canot beleive one of the reveiws left on this restaurant on slow service? I think people dont understand its a ""diner"". The food they produce is top notch! I have never had bbq this good!!! I think this is one of the most deserving place to be on ""diners, drive inns, and dives"" In A diner it can take a little longer to get your food if the place is packed. But the food is the most amazing food I have ever had. The sides are great and also the service staff is top notch. I go atleast twice a week. This is hands down the best BBQ I have ever eaten. I also have been all over the world to eat all types of different food. This place is top of my list. Great place to eat and the atmosphere is great with pig art and pig deco everywhere. I would recommend with out a doubt You will love it.

We tried this place after it premiered on Food Network; it was jammed as one might expect. The brisket was chewy and the sides were forgettable, but the pork and chicken were good, and we chalked any problems up to the restaurant being busy. On our second visit the crowd was light, but the food was still mediocre. The chicken was gamey, and the chili had the taste and consistency of spaghetti sauce. Considering the price of the food and the multitude of BBQ options in the Valley, there's no compelling reason to visit Thee Pitts.

We tried this BBQ restaurant because they were featured on the AZ morning news and The Food Channel's ""Diner's, Drive-Ins, and Dives"". The online reviews were favorable, so we decided to try what we expected to be a great BBQ place. Results: VERY DISAPPOINTING service and food. It took 10+ minutes to be acknowledged by a server (it was not that busy) and over an hour for our entrees to be delivered to the table after we ordered. The pulled pork was very tender, but the side dishes (BBQ beans, Potato Salad, Corn on the Cob) were not very tasty. The chicken was so dry and tough that it almost required a steak knife to cut it. How did this place get three awards (on the wall) for chicken??? We were going to try one of their desserts - they all looked very good, with the exception of the fried Twinkie - but. we had already spent almost two hours in this ""diner"" and did not want to invest any more time or money in our very poor experience. We do not recommend this restaurant and will not be going back again. Famous Dave's BBQ is MUCH better on service and food.
