Schnabel Engineering is an employee-owned company offering services regionally and abroad from its 14 offices located in the Eastern United States. The company offers geo-technical engineering, environmental services, geosciences, dam engineering, materials engineering and construction monitoring. Schnabel Engineering also performs nondestructive examination for a variety of projects, such as bridges, buildings, pipelines, machinery, rail cars, tanks, industrial process equipment and power systems. The company uses techniques that include ultrasonic testing, radiographic testing, visual testing and remote visual testing, liquid penetrant testing, magnetic particle testing, eddy current testing, infrared thermography, ground penetrating radar, magnetic detection (ferroscan rebar and post-tension cable verification) and program development and auditing. Schnabel Engineering has more than 275 employees. The company was founded in 1956 to offer services in soil mechanics engineering. Schnabel Engineering maintains its corporate headquarters in Glen Allen, Va.
