20 years. I have been calling Mr. Blackwell to clean my chimneys for 20 years. I used several Richmond area sweeps before him, some were OK, most weren't. Mr. Blackwell shows up when he says he will, does a great job and if something is found that he can't finish in my time slot we set up another time, and he gets it done then. I have found Mr. Blackwell to be on-time, courteous, friendly, honest and I have recommended him to family and friends.

The owner, Eric Blackwell, is the most rude (and lazy) worker I have ever, ever encountered. After waiting 3 weeks for an initial visit, we waited another 3+ weeks for him to come back out and do the work. Then, the morning of the job, he called to say that he wouldn't be doing the job today (early Dec) because it was 'too cold' and he didn't want him or his people working outside for '6 hours in 45 degree weather.' Um, what? That's your job. He proceeded to tell me that he could 'maybe' reschedule me Dec 23rd. Wouldn't it be colder then? He then told me he was frustrated and didn't have time to talk to me because he was so busy. I can appreciate you're busy but isn't this your business / job? He was incredibly rude and, as a business owner myself, would never talk to a customer the way in which he spoke to me. There are many other chimney sweeps in town and there is no reason to waste time on this guy unless you your self have a bunch of time to waste and be talked to by some rude man.
