Gilbert Middle School provides academic programs to students in grades six through eight. The school offers classes in English, language and fine arts, health and physical education, foreign languages, mathematics, science and social studies. It provides various honors courses. Gilbert Middle School is a part of Lexington County School District One, which operates several other elementary, middle and high schools. It operates various departments, such as communications, human resources, information technology, administration and planning. The district offers educational classes to more than 19,000 students. The district offers a range of special programs, such as adult and community education, advanced placement, after-school programs, career and technical education and day care programs.
