Northfield Elementary School serves more than 300 students in grades prekindergarten through six. The student-teacher ratio in the school is 15-to-1. Its curriculum includes reading and writing, language arts, foreign language, math, science and social studies. The school also offer special education programs, such as School-Community Facilitator, preschool, learning lab, liaison with head start and school-to-work. Students are encouraged to participate in a wide variety of extracurricular activities, including athletics, speech, debate, mock trial, music, drama, and several social, support and service organizations. Based in Gering, Neb., the school is a part of the Gering Public Schools.
