This is a great locally owned shop. Alan actually talks to you about your car and with near the humor of the car talk guys which makes the bill sting a little less ;) Is he the cheapest? No.. but if you want high quality, fast, honest, and reliable auto service with a smile in Gtown, Alan is your man. He'll work with your to save $$ too, like installing parts you bring. Won't take my cars & truck anywhere else.

I am so grateful to have found a shop that is not only fair and honest, but is willing to take the time to educate me so I can make the best decisions concerning my cars. It's great to find that type of commitment to service and quality.
I took my car to Alan's after scheduling an appointment for 9 a.m. to make repairs to my faulty heater and worn serpentine belt. I received phone 2 phone calls to ask permission to proceed with repairs (including 1 which asked if it was ok to remove my glovebox to check an actuator). The repairs to my vehicle were completed early and under the initial estimate (over $200 cheaper). Other repair centers may have left the price at the initial estimate, but I appreciate Alan's Auto Repair for their honesty. I also had my car back by 3:00 p.m. I will not take my car anywhere else from now on. Thanks, Alan's Auto, for a pleasant experience (which is rare in vehicle repair services)!

My starter failed at a nearby gas station on the way to Michigan. As a traveler, I was vulnerable to being overcharged. After talking to Tracy on the phone, I decided to take a chance and have the car towed to Alan's. Good choice. I was treated well. I was given a estimate of the costs up front with good, better best options for the replacement starter. The repair was fast well under 2 hours. The overall cost with reasonable. Alan was able to tell me why I'd experienced 3 starter failures in under 60k miles...oil from filter leaking on starter...something my trusted mechanic in Michigan had failed to diagnose. Alan's is a great choice for travelers with car trouble.
I highly recommend Alan's. My daughter is enrolled in Georgetown College and Dad is at home, 200+ miles away, in Western Kentucky. My daughter had a brake issue with her 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I did some research and found Alan's. After calling and explaining the problem, we arranged to have the Jeep taken in. Several serious issues were found with a rear axle and the rear brakes. Alan called to explain all of the issues and give me a detailed estimate. He even took the time to photograph the problem areas that I was unaware of to insure me that I was not being scammed! After my OK, the work was completed in a timely manner at a cost less than the estimate. We pleased with the work and my daughter now has a safe vehicle. My daughter says she was treated like family and we now have a shop we can depend on. We are VERY pleased with the entire experience.
Brought my car in that was having starting issues. I suspected a bum starter. They ended up ripping out the entire alarm system and replacing the starter cable (which was melted). All this was without consent. I was told the alarm system (not remote start!) was the main issue. To make matters worse, my dome light, power windows, and door locks no longer work (from the total electrical butchering they did after removing the alarm). They also said that those items must not have worked prior to me bringing in the car! Are you kidding me? I also had the car detailed as a part of the reason for me bringing it in. I will admit, the detail job was very good but FAR from being worth the additional $300! All in all, I left with the car starting and a good detail but power locks, windows and dome light broken, and my wallet over $800 lighter. There are better and cheaper mechanics out there. Stay away.
