General Info
If you have suffered a setback, it's the "things" that you are missing out on that hurt the most. We understand that. When you choose Hammond-Henry Hospital's Rehab Services, you are matched with highly skilled therapists ready to guide you back into your life. With compassion and encouragement, your team will prepare a program tailored to your needs to help you succeed beyond discharge. With your goals in mind, we pledge to find the best treatment plan for you utilizing physical therapy, occupational therapy, and/or speech therapy, or cardiac rehab and pulmonary rehab. Our Tudi Edwards Rehab Center for Excellence features private treatment rooms, men's and women's health rooms, a kitchen, a therapy gym, an outdoor treatment terrace, and an aquatic rehab center. We also offer complimentary screenings for any physical pain or ailment you may be experiencing. Screenings include but are not limited to: hips, knees, and shoulders; sports injuries; balance and falls; urinary incontinence; and arthritis (wrists, hands, etc.) The screens are free and do not require a physician's order. Our specialists will identify what your clinical need is and offer home exercises, x-ray or other imaging, a healthcare provider visit, or clinical therapy. Our cardiac rehab includes two levels of therapy: Phase II which is geared toward individuals that have been released from the hospital or have just been given a diagnosis of a heart condition; and Phase III which is for those that would like to continue the program after the completion of Phase II. These outpatient exercise programs are staffed by registered nurses, trained in Advance Cardiac Life Support, as well as exercise specialist, a dietitian, respiratory therapists, a social worker, and an on-site physician. Cardiac rehab includes monitored exercise, cardiac education, counseling, and an individualized exercise program. Our pulmonary rehab program is designed to help patients manage their lung disease and return to a full, productive life. The exercises are geared toward persons with lung programs such as COPD, Pulmonary Fibrosis, lung cancer, and other diseases of the lung. The comprehensive rehab program offers monitored exercise, education, counseling, and an individualized exercise program. Aquatic therapy is offered at the Colo Aquatic Center. Aquatic therapy is occupational and physical therapy, therapeutic aquatic exercise or hydrotherapy. Goals of aquatic therapy include improving flexibility and mobility, improving balance and coordination, increasing strength and range of motion, assisting with gait and locomotion, and building endurance.
