The Gastonia Parks and Recreation Department offers a range of facilities and programs. It provides picnic shelters, ballparks and community centers on rent for a variety of social and business functions. The department also operates an adult recreation center, which offers classes on line dance, yoga, zumba, ceramics, ladies fitness and ballroom dance. It also offers outdoor swimming pools for general swimming activities, scheduled lessons and party rentals. Additionally, the department organizes a range of sports activities that include basketball, volleyball, baseball, basketball, softball, football, soccer, golf, swimming and tennis.
