      General Info
      Gaston County Schools is a school system that operates various elementary, middle, and high schools and conducts classes in preschool through grade 12. Its academic curriculum includes English, math, science, language arts, music, computer skills and physical education. The system also administers various sports and extracurricular activities, such as football, volleyball, golf, basketball, softball, cheerleading, baseball, wrestling and cross-country. Garrison Public Schools operates various departments that include art and physical education, athletics, human resources, finance, facilities, operations, professional learning, school nutrition and transportation. It has a department for exceptional children that work to provide educational development to children and youth with disabilities. The system supports a renaissance incentive program that helps students to improve academically, increase school attendance and maintain positive behaviors.
